CREANEY PRIMARY SCHOOL
Physical Education is a vital part of your child’s development. At Creaney Primary School, our program lays the foundation for students to lead active and healthy lifestyles. Throughout the year, students participate in swimming lessons, athletics, and a range of team and individual sports, helping to develop muscular strength, flexibility, cardiovascular endurance and coordination.
In the early years, there is a strong focus on developing Fundamental Movement Skills, which support safe, confident and successful participation in physical activity.
Students are taught by a specialist Physical Education teacher and are given opportunities to learn a variety of traditional sports, including netball, football, basketball and soccer, as well as other activities such as table tennis, golf and ultimate frisbee.
Through these experiences, students develop important physical skills, build their athleticism and learn how to apply these skills in game situations. They also learn the value of teamwork, fair play and sportsmanship during lessons and inter-school competitions.
