The Creaney Reading Buddies program aims to support our junior students in becoming lifelong readers by developing their accuracy, fluency and comprehension skills.

During Terms 2 and 3, students in Years 1, 2 and 5 meet in the library before school on Mondays and Tuesdays. Older students are paired with younger students to listen to them read, provide encouragement and feedback, and model what effective reading looks and sounds like.

Many younger students who participate in the program go on to volunteer when they reach Year 5, giving back to the program and supporting the next group of developing readers.
